Police in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang Province, recently received a report from a woman saying that her husband has been engaged in prostitution at a hotel. However, police found nothing unusual at the scene, only to find that the woman was making up a lie so as to get into her husband's hotel room.

Further investigation revealed that the husband was the only one in the room, and was not involved in any form of prostitution.

It turned out that the couple had been fighting for years, police has learned.

According to the couple, on the night of the "incident," the husband told his wife that they needed to stay apart for a while to calm down, and then went to the hotel alone.

Anxious to know what her husband was doing, the woman surnamed Li located the hotel and tried to persuade receptionists to help her open the door, which made her husband furious and questioned the hotel for allowing his wife's unreasonable request.

After her request was turned down, Li decided to make up a fake accusation to report to the police, so that they can open the door for police inspection.

However, Li's scheme had eventually left herself held under administrative detention for reporting false information to public security department.
